About Rachel Schmid Decoupage Dreams
Suitable for experienced artists as well as beginners, this paper impresses with its special quality and manageability. It is very thin, light and semi-transparent in a natural white shade. The characteristic fibers of different thicknesses, which run in different directions, give the paper a unique structure and an original appearance.
Despite its delicate appearance, the paper is exceptionally strong and tear-resistant, which means that it does not disintegrate even under intensive processing. It can be effortlessly glued to various surfaces such as glass, wood, MDF boards or polystyrene and is compatible with any adhesive suitable for decoupage. Thanks to its flexibility, it can be placed gently around oval objects without forming creases, making it the best alternative to the napkin technique.
Application tips:
1 **Preparation:** Paint the surface of the object white before sticking on the paper to make the colors appear brighter.
2 **Border design:** Tear off the white frame of the paper instead of cutting it out with scissors. The irregular edges are easier to conceal on the surface.
3 **Stick on:** Always work in small sections of about 10 cm. Carefully smooth the paper with a piece of plastic wrap (cling film) that you have rolled into a ball to avoid creases and air bubbles. Always start in the middle and work your way outwards.
4 **Sealing:** Apply several coats of clear lacquer to the finished work and allow each coat to dry well before applying the next.
Now you can give free rein to your creativity and experiment with different inspirations.
